Pip is a caring and selfless individual, however meek. He was going to rob his sister to help the escaped convict he had only met recently. He may had done it out of fear, for fear that the 'other convict' would kill him in his sleep, but he later said that he was glad that he enjoyed the food so much. he may had feared for his life as he watched the convict scarf down the food and compared the endeavor to how a dog eats, but he was glad that he was helpful nonetheless. he also means what he says. Rarely does Pip lie about anything. he stayed true to his word and robbed Mrs. Joe, even if it meant a run-in with the Tickler.
